The staff at Shoreline Dental Care is excited about what dental implants can do for your smile. Whether you have lost one tooth or several, dental implants can restore a natural-looking, beautiful smile. This outstanding treatment is offered at both of our branches in Milford and West Haven.
Are Dental Implants for Me?
While there are several options for replacing a missing tooth, dental implants have some very specific benefits, such as:
- Dental implants are durable and will likely last the rest of your life.
- Dental implants protect the structural integrity of the bone in your jaw.
- Dental implants provide the most natural looking replacement teeth.
- Dental implants are a better investment over the long haul than other replacement procedures.
What is the Dental Implant Procedure?
First, titanium posts are embedded in your actual jawbone to act as an artificial root for your replacement teeth. The dentist will then allow a few weeks for bone structure to naturally reform around the titanium post and secure the implant as if it were a real tooth. At the final appointment, the actual replacement implant will be attached to the titanium post and then topped with a dental crown. The final result is a tooth that is strong and natural looking. You can eat without hesitation and smile with confidence!
Dental Implant Options
Single Tooth Crowns
When only one missing tooth is being replaced.
When replacing a series of missing teeth. This is an alternative for partial dentures or bridges.
Implant Retained Dentures
For replacing all of your teeth at once. These teeth will look and feel like your real teeth, and you won’t have to worry about your dentures slipping out during a meal.
What is the Cost for Dental Implants?
The cost of dental implants depends on a variety of factors. Call either one of our offices in Milford or West Haven to set up a personal consultation with Dr. Tartagni. We will be able to estimate an accurate cost for your dental implants after considering the following:
- The quality, amount, and location of the bone structure in your jaw. In some cases, bone grafting will be a prerequisite to dental implants. This will definitely raise the total cost of your implants.
- The number of teeth you are replacing and the dental implant option that you choose.
- The details of your dental insurance.
Advanced Implant Placement
Shoreline Dental Care is pleased to offer advanced cone beam technology to make your implant surgery quicker, your recovery time less, and your discomfort less. By using 3D CBCT scanners, we can be certain that your implants are placed in the best possible manner to compliment your natural oral anatomy.
In addition to our 3D CBCT scanners, we offer platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) treatment. This option is completely organic and is designed to speed up the healing process after the implants are in place.
Our implant dentist currently holds membership in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is trained and experienced in the field and eager to help improve your life through the use of dental implants.
Platelet Rich Fibrin
Your health and comfort are our #1 priority at Shoreline Dental Care and because of that we are one of the very few dentists in all of Connecticut that offers Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) with our oral surgeries.
What is PRF?
Platelet Rich Fibrin is a process in which your own blood is used to cause your body to naturally heal and regenerate tissue at a faster pace than the normal healing time. This process starts with a small amount of your blood that is placed in a centrifuge that separates white blood cells, red blood cells and plasma. The resulting product is applied to the extraction area which promotes new, healthy tissue growth. Stem cells are stimulated in your mouth to allow this accelerated healing process. Dry socket risk, bone loss and other complications are reduced greatly.
Shoreline Dental Care will use PRF after extractions, dental implants, grafting and other surgical procedures to give you the safest, quickest and most comfortable healing experience.
Benefits of PRF
There are many advantages to using PRF after surgery. The process is completely organic since your own blood is used, your own body’s natural healing ability is boosted and many patients have claimed that they experienced less pain along with the faster healing time. Our staff at Shoreline Dental Care focus not only on your oral health but your whole health. By using PRF we give our patients a completely organic procedure that is proven to help with the healing process after oral surgery. We put your health first.
